About the iMentor Partnership

Since 2004, iMentor has provided mentors to the young women who board at Catherine McAuley High School, now run by Boys Hope Girls Hope New York. Boys Hope Girls Hope “helps academically capable and motivated children-in-need to meet their full potential and become men and women for others by providing value-centered, family-like homes, opportunities, and education through college.” This boarding program provides for the cost of the education at Catherine McAuley and the dorming program, and helps students to focus on their studies in the socially and academically supportive environment. The young women live in the Catherine McAuley dormitory from Sunday evenings to Friday afternoons and stay with their families in their home communities on the weekends.

Through this partnership, iMentor has matched 32 freshmen, sophomore, junior, and senior students, and all mentor-mentee pairs will remain matched in multi-year relationships until high school graduation. The seniors (class of 2009) will be the first mentees in our organization’s history to have been matched with their mentors for all four years of high school!

The iMentor session, led by teacher David Ortiz with assistance from Sister Pat Gale and Sister Pat Kearney, is just one of the many enriching activities the girls participate in after school.
