Nora Gomperts
Nora comes to iMentor with a deep commitment to education and community development. While earning her degree in psychology at Yale University, Nora worked with New Haven elementary school students as a tutor with New Haven Reads and volunteered at National Students Partnerships, where she assisted low-income and unemployed New Haven residents build resumes, apply for jobs, and access social services. After graduation, Nora took her passion for service to Washington, DC, where she taught seventh grade math as a DC Teaching Fellow and earned a Masters in Education from American University. While teaching, Nora started a small tutoring business aimed at increasing students’ enjoyment of and proficiency in mathematics. She focused on helping female students feel more confident about their mathematical abilities. Nora is excited about working with high school students and mentors in New York City, and she is thrilled to be part of the iMentor team!
