Esther Widlanski
Esther joins iMentor after spending two years in Southern Africa managing community development volunteering programs with African Impact. Her experience with African Impact began when she volunteered as an elementary school teacher with their project in Livingstone, Zambia. She then went on to work for the organization as the Manager of their project in Mozambique, where she trained and supported volunteers from all over the world as they taught at a rural preschool, a TEFL school, and in HIV Education workshops. Esther feels privileged to have played a role in developing projects that brought education and opportunity to so many underserved individuals. She was also deeply affected by witnessing the way that volunteers were often profoundly changed by their experiences. Before living in Africa, Esther graduated from Colby College in 2007 with a B.A. in English Literature. As a born and bred New Yorker, she looks forward to facilitating many more inspiring experiences for volunteers on this side of the Atlantic through iMentor’s fantastic program.
