Ben Mark

Ben comes to iMentor with two years of experience as a ninth grade English teacher in Philadelphia. While in the classroom, Ben most enjoyed watching his students connect with engaging novels and creating and performing subject-based raps to help them remember material (and, to hopefully get noticed as the world’s greatest rapping educator). He also brings six years of experience as a camp counselor at YMCA Camp Coniston in Grantham, New Hampshire. Most recently, in the summer of 2010, Ben co-led two groups of counselors in training on a two-week outdoor leadership program to the Southwestern United States. He received his B.A. in history at Denison University in Granville, Ohio, and his teaching certification at the University of Pennsylvania. He cannot wait to begin working with New York City’s students and their mentors!
