Amanda Neel

Amanda Neel joined iMentor as an AmeriCorps member and has transitioned into a full time position.  She is from South Carolina, where she graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education.  While going to school, she was a Girl Scout leader at the Department of Juvenile Justice and active with the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.  After graduation, she worked full time in South Carolina public schools for a year as a Math Interventionist working hard to close the achievement gap in math.  She also worked after school at the Department of Corrections preparing female inmates for the GED Language Arts, Reading, and Writing tests.  She is excited about combining her passion for education and youth development in her role as a Volunteer Coordinator.
