Program Coordinator Recruiting
As the face of iMentor to teachers, mentors, and high school students, Program Coordinators play a critical role in our iMentor NYC program. Each Program Coordinator is responsible for facilitating high quality, high impact relationships between 100 mentor-mentee pairs. As our programs continue to grow, we need a large number of Program Coordinators to ensure that pairs build strong relationships and reach important goals over the course of the program.

To prepare in time for the start of the academic year, most new Program Coordinators begin work at iMentor in July or August, beginning with a comprehensive three-week orientation and on-boarding process. We generally launch the Program Coordinator search in January or February with interviews continuing throughout the month of May. While this may seem like a long timeline, we aim to hire 10-15 exceptional professionals and finding those individuals takes time. That being said, candidates can expect to be actively involved in the search for no more than two months at most, from application to hire.
The hiring process for Program Coordinators is rigorous and demanding, much like the job itself. Candidates must submit a resume and detailed cover letter, as well as an answer to a short essay question (posted on the application). Once applications have been reviewed, select candidates will be invited to a 20-minute telephone interview. Candidates who move beyond that stage will be invited to in-person interviews at the iMentor office, which will involve multiple interviews, a writing sample, and a live work sample. Final interviews with senior leadership will be held either on the same day, or at a later date.
