iMentor is committed to helping our staff grow in their positions and careers at iMentor and beyond. We offer a number of professional development opportunities to staff and strive to meet the unique development goals of each individual. In addition to an annual All Staff Orientation and a comprehensive on-boarding process in the first few weeks at iMentor, every staff member has access to a personal professional development budget of $250 in their first year and $500 every subsequent year. This budget provides staff with greater capacity to engage in enriching educational activities of their choice beyond in-house professional development, which occurs throughout the year.
Learning from one another is often even more valuable than attending workshops and courses, so members of the iMentor Senior Leadership Team frequently meet with staff in small groups or one-on-one for career path coffee talks, in which they share information about their own career trajectories, answer questions, and give guidance and advice to staff who are at an earlier stage in their careers. iMentor also offers a one-on-one staff mentoring program in which second year Coordinators are mentored by a more senior staff member over the course of a year. Formal performance evaluations occur three times annually, and always involve clear feedback and a discussion of professional development goals for the coming months.
