Civic Leadership Academy
About the iMentor Partnership
iMentor is in the second year of its partnership with Civic Leadership Academy. Students and their mentors are paired in three year matches, which begin during the students' junior year and will continue through their freshman year of college. Beginning in the 2010-2011 school year, iMentor worked with the inaugural junior class. This year, these students will continue with the program as seniors and a new class of juniors will begin the program.
For students in the iMentor program, weekly emails will provide students with valuable practice in writing and critical thinking in addition to developing them personally, academically, and professionally. The partnership with Civic Leadership Academy was launched with generous support from the New York Life Foundation and and this year has been fully funded by the Robinhood Foundation.

About Civic Leadership Academy
Civic Leadership Academy is a small new high school, which opened in fall of 2008 with a class of 9th graders. At Civic Leadership Academy, teachers, administration, and staff believe that students become active and enthusiastic learners when they feel that what they learn is relevant and useful. Thus, the school's focus is on youth development through service learning, a teaching method that enriches learning by engaging students in meaningful service to their school and communities. Students at Civic Leadership Academy apply academic skills to solving real-world issues, linking what they learn in the classrooms with genuine community needs.
The school is committed to providing students with a high-quality, relevant, and well-rounded education. By the time they graduate, students will be prepared, responsible, and caring assets to their communities.
