Margaret Rose de Cruz
What makes Margaret our mentor of the month? Margaret is CONSISTENT
Margaret and Geraldine are both busy women--or, at the least, their schedules can make it hard to meet up. When Geraldine told Margaret her parents wouldn't let her attend iMentor events at night, Margaret decided to do whatever it took to meet up. Margaret frequently came to the International High School at Prospect Heights, meeting with Geraldine during her iMentor session and catching up in an adjacent classroom. When Margaret couldn't stop by the classroom, she always made sure to email Geraldine--even when Geraldine had been absent the previous week. Margaret may make it seem effortless, but she demonstrates that every match can thrive if the mentor puts in the right amount of time, dedication, and effort. Awesome job, Margaret!
Geraldine says...
“I'm very exciting of having a mentor because I think it will be a great experiences in my life to get advices from new people. I also very excited because I wanna know how does it feel like. I have not meet no one who have had a mentor before.
I'm not really sure what are the things I would like to accomplish together, but I would like my mentor to help me with college information, because that's driving me crazy. My biggest dream is become a professional and have a different life for me and my family... work in a big hospital as a Doctor or as Register Nurse."
Margaret says...
“This year I'd like to help you with your goal of getting into a college program and learning more about the field. It's great you have a relative who is a doctor already... I have a small private practice and also work in a Day treatment program for special needs adults. So, I can relate to your dreams of serving people in the field of health care... We’re a good match.”
