What Makes David Our Mentor of the Month?  David is EMPOWERING

While David and Jackey have met at almost all of our events throughout the year, David always follows up with Jackey about his academic and career related interests.  David is great at taking extra care in responding to Jackey’s emails.  In doing so, David is wonderful at giving Jackey directive advice and do-now steps that empowers Jackey to continue to take initiative in regards to his future academics, career, and personal decisions!   In addition, David makes sure to follow up with Jackey via email and at every event to keep Jackey feeling accomplished and ahead of the college and career process! 

David says...

“I want you too look that each of the school's program and see what they require in school and the kind of course work someone who is an archeology major would take. I want get you familiar with the type of studies someone in that field does for instance. Also, what kind of grades does each school require to get in and what you would need to do if you wanted to apply to those schools. I know it is a lot but it is good researching. I'll help you also.”

Jackey says...

“Thanks for caring for me and asking about how everything was going… I'm doing pretty well in my other classes. I'm still on the look for colleges. Chemistry can be crucial if I want to become an archeologist because you need some acids to help you solve problems and also you need some concepts to see how long that artifact was there.”
