What makes Ann our mentor of the month? Ann is HER MENTEE'S BIGGEST FAN

It’s not often that you meet a mentor who will admit that they learn more from their mentee than they do from many adults. Ann shows her support by verbalizing her admiration for Isis’ strengths and goes the extra mile to make sure they meet each month at iMentor events. Not only does Ann meet Isis often, but she supports Isis’ creative work in fashion design and loves to look at Isis’ creative ideas during the time they spend together. Ann shares her passion for art and culture through detailed e-mail exchanges and thoroughly understands Isis’ personality with Isis saying, “I think you’re an awesome mentor and I think you do a good job as being a mentor. You pretty much have everything down when it comes to me”. Through their in-person interactions, it’s clear that they have a rare bond.

Isis says...

"Math will be difficult because I need to learn a whole school year's worth of math in 5 months. I will have to study really hard this semester in order to get the straight A's that I want..."

Ann says...

"Getting all A's is a pretty high standard to set for yourself and I admire you for being willing to put in the work to do it. It probably will mean, as you say, having to give up some time with your friends, but it's a worthwhile goal.  Besides math, which classes are the ones that you have to give special attention to?"
