Lutheran Social Services of South Dakota serves thousands of people struggling with emotional, financial, or spiritual pain every year. One of its services is the School-Based Mentor Program, which empowers South Dakotan youth to succeed by establishing trusting relationships with adult volunteers. Mentors have a significant impact on youth by increasing their self-esteem, providing guidance, and developing consistent, long-term friendships.

About the Partnership

Lutheran Social Services of South Dakota (LSSSD) has partnered with iMentor to bring e-mentoring to its existing youth mentoring program.

Taking advantage of iMentor Interactive’s e-mail communication tools and writing prompts, LSSSD will be able to connect mentors and mentees across the Sioux Falls area, regardless of distance. In addition, LSSSD will track student outcomes on iMentor Interactive, allowing the organization to report its exact impact to the funders that support the mentoring program.
