About the Member

Since 1936, Crossroads for Kids has served at-risk youth from Greater Boston and Eastern Massachusetts living in environments that include abuse, violence, neglect, poverty and homelessness through residential summer camp and year-round programs. The organization is dedicated to creating a safe and caring community where young people find a sense of belonging and a passion for life.

About the Partnership

Currently, Crossroads has contact with its teens through events, phone calls, emails and Facebook approximately once a month. This contact is primarily done through the organization’s five year-round staff members dedicated to these programs. Due to time constraints, Crossroads is not able to contact their youth as frequently as they would hope. With iMentor Interactive, the organization’s youth will have much more frequent contact, allowing them to enjoy the following benefits:

  • Discuss social issues that the youth are facing with their peers or families on a more regular basis.
  • Keep at-risk teens engaged in a positive relationship with a caring adult, measured through the number of contacts made (a minimum of once per week).
  • Improved attendance and grades in school due to supportive relationship with caring adults via iMentor Interactive
  • Review their college application process and scholarships available on a more individual basis.
  • Become a more environmentally-friendly organization by communicating via email about upcoming events.
  • Track the teens’ involvement in extra-curricular activities including community service.
