The program is sponsored through a partnership of United Way of Coastal Fairfield County, Bridgeport Public Schools, School Volunteer Association, Bridgeport Public Education Fund and Pitney Bowes. Wi-mentor supports United Way’s goal to create long-lasting changes that prevent problems from happening in the first place. United Way’s focus on education, thus, helping children and youth achieve at their potential, dovetails with the Mission and Strategic Plan of Bridgeport Public Schools as well as the School Volunteer Association which enriches and supports the learning of Bridgeport’s students by recruiting volunteers to work in the schools.

Wi-mentor links Bridgeport high school students with professionals in the greater Bridgeport community to forge personal relationships and explore college and career ideas. iMentor’s technology and targeted curriculum facilitate the matching and communication process, maximizing time for both students and mentors to connect through its safe, secure network.
