Year Up is a one-year intensive training program that provides urban young adults ages 18 to 24, with a unique combination of technical and professional skills, college credit, and a paid corporate apprenticeship.

Year Up's mission is to close the Opportunity Divide by providing urban young adults with the skills, experience, and support that will empower them to reach their potential through professional careers and higher education. We also serve employers by introducing them to pre-screened, pre-trained diverse entry level talent. For six months, students attend Year Up classes full time, learning the technical skills and attitude, behavior, and communications practices that allow them to succeed at entry-level positions without a college degree. For the second six months, students apply what they learned in full time apprenticeships with our corporate partners.

Year Up NYC will use iMentor Interactive to provide mentoring to its participants. Each young adult in the program will now have the chance to receive the counsel of an experienced professional in areas such as networking, interviewing, and on-the-job etiquette. Based on this and other services, Year Up believes that one day every urban young adult in our nation will be able to obtain the education, experiences, and guidance required to realize his or her potential.
