About the Partnership
UBS, Stamford Public Schools, and iMentor have come together to bring e-mentoring to A.L.T.A. program participants. UBS has generously sponsored the program and is providing nearly 50 mentors while Stamford Public Schools is partnering with the Yerwood Center, a Stamford-based community center, to provide computer access for the students. Once online, the mentors and students will benefit from iMentor Interactive, iMentor’s e-mentoring platform.
On iMentor Interactive, the mentors and mentees will be able to communicate via special email accounts that can be reviewed by the program’s administrators. In addition, the email communication will benefit from writing prompts that are used to structure dialogue and promote effective communication skills for aspiring college students. The program's staff will be able to monitor the site's usage ensuring that a supportive and positive exchange develops between mentors and mentees. |
