About the Member

The Mission of the Mayor's Youth Services Bureau is to develop caring, responsible, and successful young people through the Mayor's Youth Leadership council, Education Through Adventure, the Juvenile Review Board, the Stamford Mentoring Partnership, and collaboration among Stamford's youth-serving organizations.

Through their programs, they focus on developing leadership skills, self-confidence, and life skills in our young people. In addition, they provide opportunities for adults, parents, youth workers, teachers and mentors to improve their communication, risk & courage, and team building skills. Stamford Mentoring Partnership, S.T.A.M.P.,is a program of the Mayor’s Youth Services Bureau and was established in the fall of 2005. It is a collaborative of six community based organizations in Stamford, CT. The partners have worked collaboratively to create a mentoring program to benefit all the youth served within these organizations, ages five to eighteen. S.T.A.M.P’s vision is to provide a mentor to every young person in Stamford who wants one.

About the Partnership

The goal for the 2009/2010 calendar school is for S.T.A.M.P. to double in size to 70 mentors in the program. To achieve this goal S.T.A.M.P. will expand their program to include one more elementary school and one high school. For the High School program they will be collaborating with the administration to develop a curriculum that captures the high school demographic. The first year will start with one high school partnership in order to ensure our success before they expand the program. S.T.A.M.P.’s goal is to expand to the two other high schools in the next school calendar year using iMentor Interactive.
