SHIELD Mentor Program provides youth in the Greater Greensboro community with a full range of mentoring programs and services geared towards leadership development. The program connects middle and high school youths with a mentor to in order to provide them with life-changing experiences that are focused on equipping them with a plan, a task, and a path. SHIELD's long-term goal is to help teens find their purpose in life by identifying their strengths and weaknesses and allowing them to grow and improve in character.

SHIELD is using iMentor Interactive to provide the infrastructure for its mentoring program. Mentors and mentees will apply to the program via customized online applications. They’ll be matched together using iMi’s compatibility algorithm. And they’ll email using writing prompts that iMentor has developed, as well as new ones that SHIELD will create. At the end of the day, SHIELD will then be able to use iMi’s reporting tools to measure their participants’ progress towards the program’s goals.
