About the Member
The Rhode Island Mentoring Partnership (RIMP) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to the expansion of quality mentoring services for Rhode Island youth. The organization’s philosophy is simple: when we invest today in expanding our community's capacity to mentor our youth, we will see an incredible return in the lives of our children and the health of our communities for generations to come.
RIMP is the state leader in youth mentoring and responsible for collaboration, training, and support among mentoring agencies so that each Rhode Island child who needs a mentor gets one. The organization offers collaboration among mentoring agencies, provides volunteer referral services, statewide marketing campaigns and advocacy for mentoring. RIMP also directly operates The Feinstein Mentor Training Institute, which offers high-quality trainings for mentors and mentor program coordinators; and One-to-one school-based mentoring programs in Warwick, Woonsocket, and Newport, where mentors meet for one-hour each week with their student mentees on school grounds, during school hours. |
About the Partnership
RIMP has joined with iMentor Interactive to bring e-mentoring to the mentor/mentee relationships it oversees across Rhode Island. Now, in addition to in-person meetings, mentors and mentees will be able to communicate via email, using age-specific writing prompts to jumpstart their correspondence. And the in-person events will also be supported, using iMi’s shared calendaring system. Finally, RIMP staff will be able to measure the impact of mentoring in Rhode Island through customized applications and follow-up surveys, capturing the positive changes brought about by these relationships.
