Miami Dade College’s award-winning Biotechnology Program is a comprehensive training program with a variety of curricula designed to prepare students for their future. Students can choose to earn an Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, or certificate in one of three tracks: Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, or Chemical Technology. As part of the curricula requirements, students participate in an E-Mentoring program where they are connected with a bioscience professional to help guide them in their career path.

The Biotechnology Program at Miami Dade College has joined with iMentor Interactive (iMi) to strengthen its E-Mentoring program. Students and mentors will connect on the platform to discuss career development and share advice.

To launch this initiative, the Program’s staff has customized iMi’s online applications to match their existing sign-up form. Furthermore, iMi’s matching algorithm has been tweaked to meet the needs of their constituents. Once applications have been submitted and mentors and mentees have been matched, the participants will receive access to e-mail accounts and an online calendar to develop their relationships and build their communication skills.
