Member Profile
About the Member
African Community Economic Development of New England (ACEDONE) is a grassroots organization that was established in 2002 to assist African refugees/immigrants residing in the Boston Metropolitan area. Its target population is primarily, but not exclusively, Somali, Ethiopian, Eritrean and Sudanese families in designated Empowerment Zones of Roxbury, Dorchester, North Cambridge and Quincy. The mission of ACEDONE is to try to create a highway of opportunity to allow for the African refugee and immigrant community to integrate and develop within their surroundings. This will be achieved through academic enrichment, job training and placement, career counseling and business development.

About the Partnership
With comprehensive training and resources, iMentor will help enhance, support and maximize ACEDONE’s existing mentoring programming. Specifically, iMentor Interactive will help increase the number of mentor participants by making it easier for community members to engage with the program, bring mentors and mentees together more frequently by supplementing in-person meetings with email communication, and allow the program’s administrators to more effectively evaluate the success of the program.
