As many of you know, I am the Executive Director of a non-profit called iMentor. I have been with the organization for five years, and it has truly been a life changing experience for me. iMentor is quickly becoming one of the most innovative and influential youth-development organizations in the country and it is an honor to come to work every day and collaborate with a staff composed of some of the brightest and most dedicated people I have ever met.

Together, the iMentor team is changing thousands of lives every year. This year alone, we are matching 800 young people with 800 mentors in New York City, bringing together people who never would have met without our program and showing both the mentor and mentee all of the compassion, creativity and ambition that New Yorkers have to offer. And what we do is this: we make these mentoring relationships work. Participating in our program changes peoples lives. Our mentors become more invested in their city and in social change. They commit a year of their life to helping young people living in some of NYC’s toughest communities navigate high school and get into college, preparing them for personal, academic and career success.

The iMentor program is free for all mentors, mentees and partnering schools. Every year, iMentor raises money from people like you to support the program. It costs us $1,000 to make and facilitate a mentoring relationship. It is my personal goal to raise $1,000 from my network.
