From Jessica Dear family & friends, As many of you may or may not know, I have had the privilege of being a mentor this year to a wonderful young woman, Jingzhen Juang. Jingzhen is 18 years old and only has one more year until she fulfills her lifelong goal of attending college.
Jingzhen and her family moved to America from China just about two years ago. Her progress and achievements in school are extremely impressive given the short amount of time she has spent here. She is truly driven to bettering her life through education and the many opportunities this country has to offer her and her family.
In my mentor experience thus far, Jingzhen and I have corresponded on a weekly basis by email; discussing hot topics, college admissions and other important topics relative to her life today. iMentor also offers mentors/mentees many opportunities to get together whether it be at an ice skating event or spending time in the iMentor drop-in center. After spending time with Jingzhen as well as other mentor/mentee pairs, it is truly apparent how valuable and vital this relationship and experience is to these young adults. That said, I am asking you to make a small donation to help aid the continuation and growth of this wonderful program.
