From Stancy My mentee is a junior at the School of Business for Young Women. She is smart, funny, motivated and spent a fair amount of time in foster care until she moved in with her grandparents last year. We get together about every other month and email at least once a week. As you explore the program, and I encourage you to visit the website, you will find that email communication forms the backbone of this program - iMentor makes it easy to stay in contact, providing weekly discussion topics to engage both the mentor and the mentee, helping to build a bridge. These on-line discussions make for livelier gatherings - in fact the first time I met my mentee we already had a lot in common. I was introduced to iMentor thru my sales manger at UBS, Ted Hynes, and was immediately taken by the sophistication, support and enthusiasm of everyone I met within the organization. The commitment to be there for these kids through academic and emotional challenges is real. I was lucky to have a number of adults in my life, including my parents, who cared deeply about my educational and emotional growth, and advised me on my journey to financial independence. I believe the steady support of an adult in a high school student's life is very meaningful. These kids benefit from consistency, reliability and dependability, and iMentor makes that happen. I would be happy to talk to you individually about my experience and how to get involved if you are interested. With your help, I hope to raise $5000.00 to subsidize the cost of 5 mentor-mentee pairs this year. iMentor depends on contributions from people like ourselves to continue this great work. Each and every contribution is greatly appreciated and I thank you for your consideration.
