iMentor Fundraising Events

Each year, iMentor hosts fundraising events designed to increase iMentor's network of supporters and provide the organization with the resources critical for iMentor's programs to thrive. These events are a great opportunity to learn more about iMentor and meet iMentor's staff, Board and participants.

6th Annual YEB Spring Benefit

May 19th, 2009 @ Taj Lounge

iMentor's Young Executive Board hosted its 6th Annual Spring Benefit at Taj Lounge on May 19th, 2009, bringing together over 200 young professionals from the New York City area to celebrate iMentor's work. The event was a huge success, raising close to $30,000 in an evening full of inspiration and excitement. This year's silent auction created a buzz as there was something for everyone. Packages included, the opportunity to watch the Yankees play the Mets in a luxury box, tickets to this year's BET Hip Hop Music Awards, Chanel and bliss beauty products, and tickets to the U.S. Open, just to name a few.

100% of the proceeds raised from the event will support the 1,000 mentor-mentee connections iMentor is making this year, changing the lives of underserved high school students in New York City.

Urban Hero Awards

October 29th, 2008 @ Chelsea Piers Pier 60

In 2005, iMentor was selected to become a member of The Catalog for Giving. For the last twelve years, The Catalog has highlighted the impact of its member agencies by hosting an annual event to honor the young people that they serve. Mentee, Josephare, accepted the 2008 Urban Hero Award on behalf of iMentor, along with 9 other extraordinary young people who, through tenacity, hard work, and courage, have overcome difficult life challenges to become role models for others in their communities. In accepting the award, Josephare gave a speech to more than 500 attendees, sharing her moving story about immigrating from Haiti and how her mentor, Jalena, and iMentor have helped her to reach her future academic and career goals - to attend a four-year college and become a forensic scientist.
