What is December Donor Drive?

December Donor Drive (DDD) is a holiday fundraising initiative, with the goal of raising enough money to support all of the 400 new mentees enrolled in iMentor this year. DDD capitalizes on the generosity of iMentor's volunteers and supporters by soliciting holiday donations from their vast networks. Every donation, large and small, opens the door to a brighter future for our mentees.

A Message From David

Dear Friends and Family,

In the past few months, I have been involved as a mentor in the iMentor program, a New York City non-profit organization that matches high school students with mentors.  Because many professionals may not have the time in their schedules to physically go somewhere to volunteer, iMentor uses email and web-based programs to promote frequent, real life interaction between students and professionals.  I got involved because I wanted to give back to the community, work with students, and help them with any knowledge that I have been able to amass through the years.

My current mentee is John Chen.  He recently emigrated here from China and is currently a student at Brooklyn International High School.  He first lived in Washington DC for a few months but then moved up to New York.  He likes playing computer games and basketball in his spare time.  His favorite place in New York is Chinatown because it reminds him of China.

I have a fundraising goal of $535, which is the cost to support one mentee for the program year.  I understand that it is a busy time of year and a competitive time for philanthropic donations, but no amoutn is too little and any support is appreciated!  For tracking purposes, please dedicate any donations under my name.

Thank You and Happy Holidays.
