Each year, iMentor hosts various Fundraising events designed to increase iMentor's network of supporters and provide the organization with the resources critical for iMentor's programs to thrive. These events are a great opportunity to learn more about iMentor and meet iMentor's staff, Board and participants.
 

Spring Benefit 2013

You are invited to join iMentor in celebrating the accomplishments of our volunteer mentors and their mentees who are working together to achieve their ambitions. Guests are treated to signature cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and entertainment in the expansive indoor/outdoor Bowery Hotel terrace.

iConnect Panel and Reception: Getting to Graduation

Join iMentor volunteers, partners, and supporters for an engaging panel discussion and reception at the Morgan Stanley offices on February 20. Get to know your fellow mentors and iMentor staff as we come together to learn more about the students, schools, and communities we serve.

iMentor Benefit Dinner 2012

iMentor held its second annual Benefit Dinner on October 24, 2012 in the grand ballroom of New York City’s Mandarin Oriental. Students, mentors, educators, and supporters of iMentor—including Juju Chang, Michael J. Fox, Tracy Pollan, Gayle King, and Star Jones--came dressed in their best and ready to celebrate the dramatic impact our programs are having on the lives of all participants.

iMentor Benefit Dinner 2011

iMentor held its inaugural Fall Benefit at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in New York City in October 2011. With more than 300 iMentor supporters in attendance and the city lights shimmering in the backdrop, there was only one word to describe the event, celebration.

Twestival NYC Celebrates iMentor

On Thursday, March 24th, iMentor was honored at the NYC Twestival.  Twestival (Twitter Festival) is a global series of events that use social media for social good.  Twestival events connect online communities offline on a single day to highlight great causes.  On March 24th, Twestivals were held in over 150 cities all over the world, including locations across the US and in Latin America, Europe, Asia and Africa.

Twestival NYC brought together over 100 socially conscious New Yorkers to connect offline and celebrate iMentor.  The crowd gathered at Studio XXI, an exclusive Chelsea nightspot, to dance, mingle and learn more about iMentor.  Several of iMentor’s dedicated mentors attended to share their experiences.  The event was sponsored by innovative startups, including HashableWachitooPopChips and Roommate Happy Hour, as well as QuintessentiallyFRSBarTabSprinkles of HopeLiberty Travel  and Cheek'd. All proceeds supported the 1,800 mentor-mentee pairs participating in iMentor NYC this year.

January iConnect Event: 4 Under 40: Making a Difference in NYC

On January 25th, iMentor celebrated National Mentoring Month with a special iConnect event: 4 Under 40: Making a Difference in NYC.  This panel, hosted at Google NYC, featured four speakers under the age of 40 who are making a difference in their chosen career fields.  Speakers included: Richard Buery (President & CEO, Children’s Aid Society), Rachael Chong (Founder & CEO, Catchafire), Doug Rohde (Engineering Manager, Google) and Jessamyn Waldman Rodriguez (Founder & Executive Director, Hot Bread Kitchen).  We're thrilled that over 200 mentors and potential mentors came to celebrate National Mentoring Month with us.

We would like to thank Google for opening up their space for us to have such a fun and successful event.

November iConnect Event: Wine Tasting at Chelsea Wine Vault

On November 16th, iMentor kicked off the new program year by hosting an exclusive iConnect wine tasting at Chelsea Wine Vault.  Mentors and friends had the opportunity to taste an array of fine wines from around the world and sample sumptuous hors d'oeuvres.  It was great to see over 70 mentors and potential mentors in attendance.

iMentor's 10th Anniversary Gala

On June 3, iMentor hosted its first-ever gala in honor of Founder and Board Chair John Griffin.  Over 700 guests celebrated iMentor’s 10 years of history!  iMentor’s community of supporters, mentor-mentee pairs, the iMentor team and several celebrities gathered at Cipriani to enjoy dinner, speeches and a performance by Wyclef Jean.  The evening culminated with Wyclef inviting the mentees to join him onstage for the final song.

April iConnect Event: Happy Hour at AVA Lounge

iConnect is a series of fun and exclusive gatherings hosted once a month by iMentor providing opportunities for our socially conscious mentors to network with one another while supporting iMentor’s work. Our mentors and prospective mentors who have signed up for mentor training, get priority to these highly popular get-togethers.

April's iConnect event was held at one of NYC's hot spots where over 60 mentors and their guests had a chance to mingle with others from the iMentor community while enjoying the ambiance that AVA Lounge has to offer.

March iConnect Event: Making the Change Panel

Mentors had the chance to learn about the many opportunities the nonprofit sector has to offer in an interesting panel discussion featuring nonprofit hiring professionals and people who had successfully transitioned their careers from the for-profit sector to the nonprofit sector. 

Panelists included: Richard Souto, Chief Operating Officer at Harlem RBI, Michelle Kedem, Partner at On-Ramps, and Erica Goldman, Managing Director of iMentor Interactive.

February iConnect Event: Post Valentine’s Day Mixer

To encourage mentors to spread the iMentor love by recruiting their friends to become mentors, iMentor hosted a Post Valentine’s Day Mixer at one of NYC hot spots, Spitzer’s Corner.  Aside from introducing lots of people to iMentor, guests enjoyed Spitzer’s Corner ambiance and specialty drinks made just for iMentor.

December iConnect Event: iMentor Board Panel

iMentor kicked-off its iConnect series in our new office space with a powerful board panel discussion where mentors had the opportunity to learn about iMentor's unique place in the non-profit sector and meet our impressive Board Members.  Our Board of Directors are some of NYC's best and brightest and have been featured in Fortune's 40 under 40, Crain's 40 under 40, The Huffington Post, and The New York Times.

Panelists included: Charles Best, Founder and CEO of DonorsChoose.org, Bill Richards, Managing Director at UBS, and Mike O'Brien, CEO of iMentor.

6th Annual YEB Spring Benefit

iMentor's Young Executive Board hosted its 6th Annual Spring Benefit at Taj Lounge on May 19th, 2009, bringing together over 200 young professionals from the New York City area to celebrate iMentor's work. The event was a huge success, raising close to $30,000 in an evening full of inspiration and excitement. This year's silent auction created a buzz as there was something for everyone. Packages included, the opportunity to watch the Yankees play the Mets in a luxury box, tickets to this year's BET Hip Hop Music Awards, Chanel and bliss beauty products, and tickets to the U.S. Open, just to name a few.

100 Women in Hedge Funds Gala

100 Women in Hedge Funds is a global association of more than 10,000 professional women serving the hedge fund industry. Each year the group selects one or two charitable organizations in New York and London to benefit from their annual gala. The philanthropic focus for 2007 was mentoring. iMentor is proud and grateful to have been the sole beneficiary of the 2007 100 Women in Hedge Funds Gala!
