- Mentees and mentors meet for the first time! During tonight’s activities, pairs learn more about each other by completing a “Getting to Know You” activity.
11/01/2011- The Leader in You
- During “The Leader In You” event, pairs discuss different leadership qualities that will help mentees be successful in and outside of the classroom.
12/07/2011- The Personal Statement
- This event focuses on mentees sharing their personal narratives for their college essays with their mentors.
  Before mentees discuss their personal narratives, MENTORS will first tell their mentees a story of their own!
01/11/2012- The Budget Challenge
- During the “Budget Challenge” event, pairs practice creating a budget during a money management case scenario. Pairs then work on a developing a budget for the mentee choosing to either start or continue managing their money.
02/08/2012- College Life 101
- Pairs will then have the opportunity to reflect together on mentee “next steps” as they continue on their college planning journey.
03/12/2012 - Career Mapping
- During tonight’s event, pairs first discuss what motivates them. Then mentees have the unique opportunity to hear from other mentors about how they mapped motivation to their career success. In the final part of the event, pairs begin career action plan to help mentees successfully begin navigating their professional path

- During this event, pairs review best practices for writing their college essay. Pairs talk through ideas and strategies to ensure mentees are developing a clear and compelling essay.
12/14/2011- Submit and Celebrate
- During the “Submit and Celebrate” event, pairs acknowledge the mentees’ hard work and success in completing their college applications.
02/15/2012- Financial Aid Workshop
- In the “Financial Aid Checklist Review” event, pairs review basic FAFSA “FAQs” and review the mentee’s progress along their financial aid timeline.
03/07/2012- From Worry to Resolution
- During the “From Worry to Resolution” event, pairs acknowledge mentee concerns around college and recall the network of support mentee have to address these concerns.

- Pairs will then have the opportunity to reflect together on mentee “next steps” as they continue on their college planning journey.

- The goal of this event is to support mentee confidence in college readiness by identifying different college related resources and then begin “mapping” those resources to their college planning needs.

- The goal of this event is to officially create “team mentee,” a network of trusted advisors who will offer their support throughout the mentee’s high school journey.
