Wyclef Jean Performs at iMentor’s 10th Anniversary Gala
iMentor was honored to have Grammy-Award winning recording artist Wyclef Jean as a special guest at our 10th Anniversary Gala. At the end of the evening, Wyclef performed several of his hit songs with a full band.
Wyclef was an electrifying performer, and he had the entire audience dancing to his music. He was also incredibly generous, inviting our mentees—who were sitting in the front row—to join him onstage for the final song! The mentees were buzzing with excitement during the performance. In true 21st-century fashion, they texted and tweeted about the experience from onstage.
iMentor invited three Haitian American mentees and their mentors to introduce Wyclef. These students were thrilled to have the opportunity to stand onstage and welcome a performer who has been such a proactive spokesman for their country during a period of crisis. One mentee said: “This is an experience I will never forget!
