At iMentor, we’ve always known that successful youth development requires energy, creativity and the ability to command a room.  When iMentor’s Team Fun recently hosted the first ever iMentor Staff Talent Show, we learned just how talented our staff really is!  Staff from a variety of departments came out to demonstrate the clever, the hilarious and the applause-inspiring.

A group of seven from our NYC team put together a sketch based on our softball rivalry with Harlem RBI that had the entire audience in tears of laughter.  Elise Ogden demonstrated the skills that have earned her a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, with no small assistance from Scott Daughtridge who wins the unofficial good sport award for his performance as a stunt double.  Vocalists Brooke Bryant and Ashley Boynton each performed incredible operatic arias that held the crowd rapt.  Benji Ramos gave a musical demonstration on a Berimbau, an instrument used in the Brazilian art of Capoeira.  Lisa LoFaso treated us to a pop favorite on her violin while the crowd sang along.  Civic Corps members Amanda Neel and Nicole Rothwell performed an encore dance performance inspired by their Salt & Pepa costumes from the Halloween ShowdownDava Antoniotti shared a piece of family history by singing a unique childhood song.  And finally, Bridget Ginyard and Keith Miller wrapped up the night by performing an artfully choreographed dance to a Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston mash-up that earned them a standing ovation.

Every performance was applauded and every performer embraced by the crowd.  The Talent Show left us all with a sense of how fortunate we are to work with such a dynamic, creative group of individuals, in an environment of unconditional support and encouragement, not to mention fun!

I think for next year's

I think for next year's talent show there should be an ensemble with Brooke and Ashley B. singing, Benji and Lisa accompanying with their instruments, and Keith and Bridgette dancing in the background. Yes?
