New Profit Inc. has invited youth development and school support nonprofits to apply for funding through the “Pathways Fund” with the launch of an online application on September 15, 2010.

The Pathways Fund is seeking two to three additional youth development or school support nonprofit organizations to complete its portfolio.  The Pathways Fund has already identified three pre-selected grantees in its application process to the inaugural Social Innovation Fund: College Summit, iMentor, and Year Up.

Selected Pathways Fund grantees receive grants and technical assistance totaling between $750,000 - $2,250,000.  Initially, grants will be awarded for a period of one year with eligibility for funding up to five years, pending Congressional re-appropriation.

New Profit created the Pathways Fund in July 2010 following receipt of an intermediary grant from the Social Innovation Fund with the goal of expanding critical interventions for low-income youth ages 14-24 in the areas of improving high school completion rates, increasing college enrollment and persistence, and better preparing youth to enter the workforce.

Applications are due by October 13th, 2010.  Qualified organizations are encouraged to apply at www.newprofit.com/pathwaysapplication.
