Guests at iMentor’s 10th Anniversary Gala learned about iMentor’s impact through speeches given by three mentor-mentee pairs.  Each pair was at a different point in their relationship and had a unique perspective on the important role iMentor has played in their lives.

Tracey Kemble and her mentee Shanice (a junior in high school) are in the first year of a three-year match.  In their speeches, Tracey and Shanice described the process of getting to know one another and building trust.  Shanice said: “Tracey goes above and beyond because she wants to help me fulfill my dreams…With her strong will and strong personality, she motivates me every day.”

Tim Grant and his mentee Lambie just finished the third year of a three-year match.  In an emotional speech, Lambie described how Tim played an instrumental role in helping him graduate high school and finish his first year of college.   Lambie explained: “Over the past three years, our mentoring relationship has been such an important part of my life.  I know Tim will continue to support me through thick and thin.  He’s like a brother to me.”

Kathleen, who recently graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, was matched with her mentor Karen Pavlin eight years ago.  Karen supported Kathleen through high school and college, and continues to mentor Kathleen as she embarks on her career.  In her speech, Kathleen reflected on the impact of Karen’s support over eight pivotal years: “Through iMentor, I am blessed with a mentor who has been there for me and has been a source of inspiration and enlightenment.”

These speeches illustrated the lasting impact of relationships facilitated by iMentor.  Because of the gala, we will be able to create thousands more life-changing relationships over the next 10 years!
