Application Process   |   Matching Process   |   Mentor Commitment

Application Process

  • Fill out an online application
  • iMentor will confirm receipt
  • Attend a training session (invitations to mentor training are sent after iMentor reviews your application).
  • Complete the screening process (instructions will be provided at the training session).

Matching Process

Once you have completed the screening process, you will be in our pool of mentors to be matched.  When we find you a match with a mentee, you will be notified of information regarding your mentee, their school, and next steps.  Your mentee will then send the first message to you shortly thereafter.

Mentor Commitment

Mentoring can be both fun and rewarding, but it is a serious responsibility. All mentors must be able to commit six hours each month. This commitment includes:

  • One weekly email message (approximately one hour for a thoughtful, well-crafted message)
  • One monthly face-to-face meeting at iMentor-sponsored events (approximately two hours)
  • iMentor organizes a large number (and wide variety) of mentor-mentee events each year
  • Events are typically outside of working hours (6-8PM on weekdays and 1-4PM on weekends)
