About iMentor Interactive

In an ongoing effort to close the 15 million person mentoring gap in the United States, iMentor Interactive ("iMi") partners with non-profits and schools to provide them with everything they need to run a high quality mentoring program in the iMentor model.  iMi shares and teaches the curriculum, technology, and support tools developed in the New York City program with other organizations nationwide.

The Need

Across the country, there is great interest in mentoring as a strategy for supporting young people, yet few organizations have the best practices, curriculum, and tools necessary to ensure rigor and consistency across a critical mass of the mentoring relationships they create.  Every organization should not have to figure this out for itself.

What is iMi?

iMentor Interactive ("iMi") partners with nonprofits and schools to provide them with everything they need to run high-quality mentoring programs in the iMentor model, including: a high-impact curriculum, an online platform for managing all aspects of the mentoring program, and intensive consulting services.

Diligence and Selection

During the partner selection process, iMentor performs a rigorous vetting of organizations to ensure alignment of goals, outcomes oriented programing, and organizational capacity.  In general, iMentor seeks to work with organizations that:

• Serve youth ages 12-25
• Focus on personal, academic, or career development
• Combine dedicated leadership and staff with a results oriented approach
• Can develop a mentoring program that incorporates email and in-person events
• Have capacity to attend regular meetings and share information with the iMentor Interactive community

Onboarding and Training

Throughout the onboarding process, iMi partner organizations are trained on the essentials of managing a rigorous and reliable mentoring program.  During training, iMi partner organizations shadow iMentor NYC's program, learn how to utilize the online platform, and are taught the crucial elements of a successful mentoring program.

Ongoing Support

iMi delivers an innovative combination of partnership, which includes: technology, staff support, and proven resources such as curricula, mentor training and screening materials, program surveys, and automated evaluation and reporting.

Impact

Currently, there are 50 iMi partnerships in 20 states across the country.  iMentor Interactive partners include KIPP, Junior Achievement, Bridgeport Public Schools, Admission Possible, Single Stop, and City Year.  You can learn more about how other organizations have successfully integrated iMi into their programs.
