iMi & Your organization
After receiving partnership agreement, iMentor staff takes between 1-2 weeks to customize your iMi for your use. This includes a 1-2 day intensive training and orientation for a lead staff member at your organization, as well as iMentor consultation on (1) your program design (2) roll-out plan and (3) evaluation. Other aspects of launching your program are best completed prior to your organization's launch on iMi, including mentor recruitment, staff planning, buy-in, etc.
No. However, iMentor Interactive has established a partnership with Backgrounds Online, providing iMi partner organizations with significant discounts on both volunteer and employment screening. Backgrounds Online will provide your organization with customized screening services, including criminal history searches, national wants and warrants, employment verification, reference checks, and much more. Once your organization becomes an iMi member, you may register with Backgrounds Online and take advantage of the iMentor partnership benefits. No. Each organization is responsible for recruiting, screening, and training their volunteers. iMentor assists organizations by sharing advice, case studies and best practices to help ensure the success of your mentor recruitment.
iMi is designed to enable even the smallest staff to manage a mentoring program efficiently and effectively. iMentor will provide your organization's staff with an in-depth training of the platform and ongoing support. iMentor does not have the capacity to manage each organization's mentoring program. However, under rare circumstances, an exception may be made. Please discuss your unique circumstances with the iMi staff.
Yes. iMi is easily customizable to help run organizations run programs in multiple locations. Your organization can add an unlimited number of locations to a single network.
Yes. Although iMentor is based out of New York City, iMi can be used by organizations throughout the United States and the world with internet access.
No. iMi is customizable for any organizations looking to provide a safe environment where a network of users and communication effectively and efficiently, including alumni and peer-to-peer mentoring networks. iMi Technical Requirements
No. iMi was designed to be a completely user-friendly platform easily utilized by both youth and non-profit staff. Most technical problems encountered can either by resolved by the iMentor Interactive Helpdesk.
iMi is designed to work on both Macs and PC's and all major browsers. For the best user experience we recommend using iMi on Windows XP or higher or Mac OS X or higher. For quality purposes, Mozilla Firefox 3.5 and Internet Explorer 7.0 or higher are our recommended browsers
No. iMi is a web-based platform that your organization/users can access iMi from any internet-connected computer. This includes the front-end features (what your mentors and mentees use to build their relationship) and your back-end features (what your staff uses to manage the program).
What else should you know?
There is no definite limit to how many users you may have on the iMi platform.
The cost of iMi is directly related to size of the organization interested in using iMi, as well as the number of users that will be on the platform. iMentor staff will provide you with a cost estimate and walk you through an explanation of the pricing model.
